Dogs in Human Environments
When dogs are born in the wild, they are born in a natural environment. Their mother and older pack members instinctively guide them to learn all the skills for survival. The dogs learn quickly to use those instincts to thrive and survive.
Dogs living with humans are living in an artificial environment. The artificial environment can create artificial problems. We see a range of behaviors including leash pulling, jumping, excessive barking, nipping, anxiety and aggression.

Obedience Packages
All Packages start with establishing Leadership. Obedience work is a key element to Leadership resulting in a well-balanced, well-behaved dog.
Basic Obedience
This training package is 4 in-home lessons that include five basic commands: Heel (walking), Sit, Stay, Come and Down. For puppies, we also provide guidance and documentation about house training, crate training, socialization, and responding to common behaviors like nipping & jumping.
Cost: $495 for 1 dog; $695 for 2 dogs
Advanced Obedience
This package is 7 in-home lessons that include the five basic commands and expands their application based on your unique needs.
Cost: $895 for 1 dog; $1195 for 2 dogs
Advanced Obedience with High Distraction
This 9 lesson training package includes everything in Advanced Obedience and adds skills to achieve obedience in high distraction environments (listening with other dogs/people/distractions around).
Cost: $1195 for 1 dog; $1595 for 2 dogs
Tune-Up Lesson
A single, 1 hour lesson used as a follow up to previous training to work on any new issue or difficulty you may experience. These can be added on after a package has been completed or later down the road after graduation from our program.
Cost: $175
Foundations
These are short, targeted lessons to set a strong foundation quickly. It’s best to follow these with an Obedience package.
Puppy Starter Lesson
This is a single in-home lesson to assist you with a new puppy or any new dog in your home to get started on the right foot. We’ll cover house training, exercise, feeding routine, crate training, socialization, responding to common behaviors like nipping & jumping and laying the right foundations for leadership.
Cost: $175
Leadership Essentials
This 3 lesson pack is a more in-depth focus on AFDT leadership techniques, structured leash walk, establishing a daily schedule/feeding routine, impulse control work, and calming exercises to ensure you get started off on the right track to having a more calm, confident, obedient pack member. This package will ensure a strong foundation for future AFDT obedience training packages and strengthen your leadership and position as pack leader. This package is perfect for early puppyhood (8-12 weeks of age), and rescues and other adult dogs that clients may be struggling to gain trust and respect with.
Cost: $445

Therapy Dog Training
Teach your dog to provide affection, comfort and support to people in settings such as hospitals, retirement homes, nursing homes, schools, libraries, hospices, or disaster areas. At our assessment, we will evaluate your dog to determine if his/her temperament is a good fit for Therapy Dog work. Level of basic obedience may affect price.
Cost: Starting at $1500
Service Dog Training
We train and provide the Service Dog certificate once training is complete.
To train your dog for service work, your dog must pass our behavior evaluation before he/she can be considered for Service Dog work.
Alternatively, we offer Service Dog Training where we select and purchase your dog. This package allows us to pick what is best for the client. We cannot guarantee a specific breed but will do our best to fulfill all breed specific requests.

We Train You Maintain
No time to attend the training sessions? No problem. We’ll train your dog and then show you how to maintain after the training is complete.
Cost: 5 basic obedience skills plus 2 follow-up lessons with you for $845
One Lesson Wonder
This service gives you our full attention for 90 minutes to solve most dog problems you may be having. We will come to your home, show you how to establish leadership and leave detailed notes and handouts to solve your dog problems. It also includes a follow up call after the lesson. Perfect for the dog who needs a lot of help very quickly.
Cost: $300 for 90 minutes
Behavior Modification
This training provides dog owners with the ability to:
✔️ Correct all anti-social, dominant or aggressive behavior.
✔️ Change the household from dog dominant to human dominant.
✔️ Create a strong, trusting relationship with your dog(s).
Basic obedience is essential to accomplish these goals. Dogs are required to demonstrate the five basic obedience commands of Come, Sit, Down, Heel, and Stay before working on behavior modification issues.
Basic Behavior Modification (dog already trained on obedience) — Cost: $450 for 3 lessons or $750 for 5 lessons
Advanced Behavior Modification (obedience training + behavior modification) — Cost: $895 for 7 lessons or $1195 for 9 lessons

Michelle was born and raised in Philadelphia and longed to be more connected with her hometown, so she decided to open an Always Faithful Dog Training that would allow her to pursue her training passion, within her local community. Michelle previously had been in training and development for over 25 years in the retail and service industry where she spent those years pursuing her passion for training humans. In 2022, she decided to turn her attention to dogs and opened her first Always Faithful Dog Training in New Orleans, where Brandon, her husband is from. Michelle and Brandon have lived there since 2003 and raised their 3 sons, but as a Philly girl, she has longed to have a connection back to her hometown and now has a stake in the area that she loves so much. Always Faithful Dog Training has allowed her the opportunity to run a locally-owned business that makes her proud. “I have always loved training and the structure it brings to my life. And even though my background has previously been training in the corporate world, I now have a business that lets me help people in my community become responsible and loving dog owners – both for themselves and their dogs. Owning a dog is a choice and I want to help people learn to love the journey with their dog as much as the dog loves their human.”

Marie has resided in the western suburbs of Philadelphia all her life and has always loved animals, especially dogs. After high school she worked in the beauty industry while also dog sitting and walking. After a few years of working in salons, she worked for the SPCA, a dog grooming business and then a dog daycare. As her knowledge of dogs grew, she developed a passion for helping dog owners have a better understanding of their dog’s behavior.

Her career includes social work, psychology, children's services, teaching, and pet care. Since working with many different pets, families, and communities, she has come to discover just how important it is to nurture and strengthen your "pack", and what an enormous difference positive leadership can make in your everyday life. Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Caroline moved to Philadelphia in 2008. From a young age she knew she wanted a career with animals, so she gained experience by interning at the Philadelphia Zoo and at the Elmwood Park Zoo. She graduated with a Bachelors degree in Biology in 2019 and since then has had the privilege of being a dog trainer.
Her mission is to continue to help families understand that “Dogs don’t speak the human language. We have to meet them halfway, so that they can learn how to navigate the human world in a mannered and polite way. We took them from their natural environment, we should try to help and understand them.”

At Always Faithful Dog Training, we look for a very specific person that has the right attitude towards leadership that fits our culture, has a flexible personality and isn’t worried if things don’t always go their way, sees the good in all canines, and wants to teach humans how to let dogs be dogs.
Traits of a Pack Member:
Be calm and commanding at all times mixed with a lot of patience.
Practice humility and know that there may be many different ways to get the required result.
Understanding of our clients lives and accommodate them when necessary.
Use our proven leadership methods and trust our process.
Maintain openness to feedback and learning.
Use and demonstrate good social skills with dogs and humans. The client is the owner first, the dog second and the client needs to feel comfortable with our trainers.
Have a good sense of humor since silly, embarrassing, or messy things will happen when training.
Comfortable with all walks of life. Our human clients are as diverse as our dogs! We rarely turn down a client unless it is a service beyond our expertise.
Job requirements:
Must have reliable transportation
Ability to travel to people’s homes (within 35 mile radius of Philadelphia) to conduct lessons
Permitted to work legally in the US
Previous or current dog owner
Must be over 21 years of age
